Ealing is one of west London’s prettiest boroughs and hosts Britain's largest free jazz festival each year in August. The Jazz Festival is held in Walpole Park.

Ealing is a shopper’s paradise with everything from major chains to specialty shops, antiques and craft markets, farmers' markets and the capital’s only remaining agricultural market in Southall Park. Packed with historic buildings and heritage sites, Ealing is home to Pitshanger Manor and Gallery, the former country home of Sir John Soane.

Ealing is best known for its film studios, which are the oldest in the world and are known especially for the Ealing comedies. The studios were taken over by the BBC in 1955. Most recently, these studios have again been used for making films, including Notting Hill and The Importance of Being Earnest. St Trinian's, a remake of the classic film, was produced by Ealing Studios; some locations in Ealing can be seen in this film.
