Famous for: the Auditorium by Renzo Piano
In three words: innovative, eclectic, vibrant
Its name has an ancient origin, which refers to the history of Rome: Flaminio is located in the north of the city, between the Tiber and the Via Flaminia. In the last twenty years the district has experienced an incredible transformation and nowadays is the centre of the Roman cultural life: the work of redevelopment, then the great project by architect Renzo Piano and finally the innovative creation of the Maxxi space have made this area one of the most chic of the capital, the real heart of cultural life in Rome.
HISTORY: Flaminio is the first of the 15 districts of Rome established in the beginning of 1900, and is located in the north of the city. In recent years it has become an important cultural centre in the capital: the high concentration of theatres, museums, auditorium, together with the wide range of events and shows, make Flaminio a focal point of Roman life. The area is enriched continuously with new architectural projects, clubs, cultural centres, so that the apartments Rome Flaminio have reached the same value as the apartments Rome centre.
ATMOSPHERE: The atmosphere is certainly lively, exciting, full of movement: Flaminio is a true centre of events and trends. PLACES: The Auditorium Parco della Musica is a multifunctional complex designed by architect Renzo Piano with the idea of hosting musical and cultural events of various kinds. Its size reaches 55,000 square meters, located in different rooms and spaces, including an amphitheatre. Since its opening, it has hosted prestigious concerts (the orchestra, Italian and international pop music...) and is still a cultural centre of great importance in the life of the Italian Capital.
The MAXXI, recently opened, is a museum of contemporary art designed by architect Zaha Hadi. A place dedicated to experimentation and innovation, divided into two spaces, the MAXXI Art and MAXXI architecture. There are also an auditorium, a library and a media library, themed galleries and a large square for live events.
The Music Bridge, opened in 2011, is a steel and concrete structure that connects Della Vittoria and Flaminio districts.
The Milvian Bridge (Ponte Milvio), far more ancient origins, dating back to 110 BC and was built along the route of the Via Flaminia and the Via Cassia as a fixed course to go to not. In recent years it has become famous because lovers attach a padlock to the bridge and throw the key into the Tiber as a sign of their love.
