Valencia is a fascinating city and there are many things to see. Here is a list of some of Valencia's most popular sights.
The City of Arts and Sciences is located at the place where the river Turia used to pass, but was drained and rerouted after a flood in 1957. Now its riverbed is a picturesque sunken park and the area is a fascinating cultural and scientific site.
Nowadays ´the city´ is the most prominent tourist destination in Valencia. Designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela, the construction started in 1996 and was finished in 1998 with the opening of L'Hemisfèric. The last great component of the City of Arts and Sciences, El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, was presented to the public in 2005.
Every single building that is part of the complex is unique and interesting in its own way and contributes to the marvellous architectural image of the place. The six of them are as follows : L´Hemisféric, El Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe, L'Umbracle, L'Oceanogràfic, El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, L'Àgora.
