Pontassieve is a municipality in the Province of Florence in Tuscany, located about 14 kilometers east of Florence. It is located in the Arno valley at the point where the Sieve river flows into the Arno. This is a green zone with many hills and fresh air, that was bombed during the war, but nowadays Pontassieve may charm you with new constructions and restorations.Also Pontassieve is a good location for country vacation accommodations in Tuscany, you can see that life goes slowly there. The municipality is famous because of its numerous churches, “chiesas”, some of them were built in the X century. Pontassieve is a good place to go for wine routes if you are tired of busy Florence´s streets, as it is very good connected and  reachable by bus and by train.
