The best sights of Berlin

Berlin is a fascinating city and there are many things to see. Here is a list of some of Berlin's most popular sights.

Kurfürstendamm

The Kurfürstendamm, also called Ku’damm , is a main avenue in Berlin which leads into the Tauentzienstraße, where the KaDeWe is located. The road was created in 1542 as a path from the Berlin City Palace to the hunting lodge Grunewald and was later used as a bridle path. Later on it became a very exclusive street where intellectuals and rich people used to meet. If you were seen in this street you were definitely one of the well-known citizens.

Today, the 3.5 km long Ku’damm is an popular shopping street with numerous upscale shops, boutiques but also chain stores and souvenir stores. It is the perfect place to go for a stroll in Berlin City.

You can also find the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church on the Kurfürstendamm at Breitscheidplatz, which is a well-know sight of Berlin. The church was badly damaged during the WWII and you can still see the destroyed church tower. There is also memorial hall in the ground floor.
